1948

Beginning of CEC

At Nagpur Laxminaran Malani alogwith his son Ramkishore Malani , and his son in law Goverdhandas Kela, both of whom had good business acumen, gradually prospered and started the firm Central Engineering Corporation ( CEC) in which he started retail sales of Armstrong Siddley Diesel Engines and Johnston water pumps. in 1948

1950

Central Engineering Corporation had been selling Shri Ram Centrifugal Pumps manufactured by Mr. Damodaram. They had introduced the pumps in the Nagpur market and captured quite a good share of the market on the basis of their marketing capabilities. When they had started selling Shriram Pumps, it was a new product in the market. They had proved that a new product could be successfully sold by them.. The shop was located on the first floor of Dhanwate Chambers and was hardly a place for retail sales of machinery.

1953

So, after some time in the 50's, he shifted the shop at Abhyankar Road, Sitabuldi where G.R.Kela already had a rented place comprising of two rooms and a kitchen. The front room was a shop where the goods were displayed. Along with the pumps, on display were also Armstrong Diesel Engines, which were also bought on consignment account from Mr.Sikchi, who was importing the engines. It was difficult for him to sell the engines at Amravati whereas we could promote the sales in Nagpur much better. Soon the sales picked up and the firm Central Engineering Corporation was well set in business.

1956

RalliWolf power tools were launched in India by Wolf (UK) in the year 1956 with these tools sales being in single digits in that era, Central Engineering Corporation Introduced this region to electrically operated tools , without which no work is possible at present Name Central Engineering , is still related to RalliWolf because of there 60+ years of association

1984

Sanjeev Malani joined G.R.Kela in Central Engineering Corporation in the year 1984. Here he really proved to be very effective and developed the business considerably.

1995

1985 to 1995's was the golden era with major sales to New Thermal power plant at Khaperkeda , We were not hit by recession of 90's on the contrary there was multi fold growth. Ashish Nagory grand son of G.R.Kela joined in 1997 after completing , MBA from IME Pune , with prior degree in Electronics Engineering from RKNEC Nagpur With sustainable growth , in 2008 he started with a unit at MIDC Nagpur to Assemble material lifting and handling equipment's and in the same year 2008 Central engineering opened there branch office in Pune in Pimpri Industrial area under the guidance of Ashish Nagory
